Can you come up with an experiment to test surprise?

Remember when the baby was surprised by the bear, it looked for longer. This shows that the baby was expecting something different to happen.

Questions to get you started:

• What surprises you? Can you turn this into an experiment to surprise others?
• Think about who you are going to try this experiment on and how you will go about it? (Always be kind!)
• How do you know they are surprised? What words, gestures and facial expressions might they use? 
• How will you record this? Tally charts?
