What else can I do at the Highland Wildlife Park?

Highland Wildlife Park, more than just the animals!

We're excited to share the Scotland's Wildlife Discovery Centre at Highland Wildlife Park is now open for you to explore with your groups!

Transform your visit to the park with a visit to our new buildings, featuring an interactive exhibition -

GatewayThe Gateway An Doras (UN DOH-rus), also known as the Gateway, is an immersive and exciting space connecting amazing global species to wonderful Scottish wildlife through games, technology and stories of the past, present, future, animals, people and places. The Gateway draws on the idea of openings in nature, like a forest clearing. RZSS have focused on exploring different types of biomes and the animals that live within them, looking not just at the threats they face but at stories of hope for the species our wildlife conservation charity is helping to protect in the wild.

And the hilltop den where you can learn about RZSS conservation work - Conservation denConservation Den An Saobhaidh (UN SUH-vee), offers 360 degree views of the landscape, looking into the area of the park where our wildcats are bred for release into the wild. In the den, visitors can sit, take a moment and explore the amazing conservation work, it is where visitors can learn about the challenges facing the natural world.

We can't wait to welcome you to the park for your next visit, where you can discover our amazing new spaces.

Suggestion: if you want to make the Gateway even more interactive with the class, you can print out the sheets (prior to your visit) and the students can complete the sheets on site. The answers are also on the document and you can discuss them with the students.
